Ohori Megumi’s Election Video
A good wife, I’ll always come back. I’m good at staying at home alone, I am Ohori Megumi. There are two reasons why I decided to participate in this year’s election. One is to show that even as a wife I can hold dreams, and the second is to act as a catalyst to light a fire under them.
This is like wishing for the largest castle from a stalk of bamboo. In order to ensure the further development of AKB and myself, I would like to do this tataki ritual.
Thank you for your growth.

What a profound thing to say in the context of idols.
Matsui Sakiko played “My Graduation” by SPEED in TEPPEN January 5th, 2013.
holly mother of skills….
Holy mother of skills indeed.
However, I feel as if she’s on the edge of something. The way she plays her piano shows a ferocity that is less palpable in her AKB48 performances. The thing about that ferocity, is that it makes her piano playing sound rather aggressive.

O Canada, thou art the land of awesome intellectual-sounding metal.
This is one of those songs that brings me back home to metal.

Goosehouse did a cover of Gingham Check
A fitting cover to a song that has a heartful core. I think this is a splendid rebuke to those who think Gingham Check isn’t good.
That being said, I think they should have played it more up-tempo.
AKB48 UZA 後半 Perfomance @ Janken Taikai 2012
To my knowledge, this is possibly the first time AKB48 has done anything like this musically. It doesn’t sound like a typical idol song. And the dance interlude in this performance is arguably outside of idol territory (though it’s unmistakably pop). The black-dominated theme and some of the English lyrics aspire to a poetic edge.
That being said, if you take out the AKB48 tag from this song, it can feel middle of the road.
I’m holding out for the PV so I can discern the music a little better since the PA system (especially the live mixing) didn’t do a good job of delivering the sound IMO.
But with all that said, I’m actually happy with the direction AKS is taking with this single.

After all the Sashi drama, I’m happy to see this senbatsu lineup in one whole photo.

The person who writes those answers is actually smart. That person is both critical and objective.

Now that they’ve lost their previous vocalist, they have a much richer sound. It’s rock, it’s metal, it’s… whatever. It’s spazz!
(And it’s called Nudism.)
